Dimebon has been shown in preclinical studies to protect neurons against the neurotoxic mutant human huntingtin protein, which is the cause of Huntington disease. In July 2008, we announced safety and efficacy results from our Phase 2 trial of dimebon for the treatment of Huntington disease, which was conducted in collaboration with the Huntington Study Group. Based on positive Phase 2 results, we are currently enrolling patients in an international Phase 3 trial known as HORIZON.
