Medivation, in collaboration with Pfizer, is currently conducting a Phase 3 trial of dimebon in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease who are on donepezil, the leading Alzheimer’s disease medication worldwide, in addition to a Phase 3 trial of dimebon in patients with Huntington disease. Medivation, in collaboration with Astellas, is currently conducting a Phase 3 clinical trial of MDV3100 in men with castration-resistant prostate cancer who were previously treated with docetaxel-based chemotherapy. In addition, the companies are on track to initiate three new MDV3100 trials in earlier-stage prostate cancer in 2010 including: a Phase 3 trial in men with chemotherapy-naïve castration-resistant prostate cancer; a Phase 2 head-to-head trial comparing MDV3100 with bicalutamide; and a Phase 1 trial in hormone-naive patients.
